Chapter Membership - Critical Care Community

CICF members in community chapters represent the countless individuals who give and care in endless ways to enhance the lives of others. The foundation is grateful for the generosity of our members whose support allows us to reflect on how we can change the world with a giving heart.

The CICF serves the needs of patients, and patient families, for critical care. We also serve the needs of the critical care community by trying to meet their professional and educational requirements.

The CICF meets these needs through:
  • supporting improvements to the quality of patient care through the promotion of research and education in critical care for investigators, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists and other related disciplines whose work is within the critical care environment
  • supporting the dissemination of new knowledge to guide improvements in the delivery of critical care services
  • providing opportunities for networking
  • collaborating with other professional affiliations and
  • promoting local membership and chapter development

    Benefits of Membership

Participation in CICF chapters can be a lot of fun and it’s a great way of getting to know colleagues outside the hospital routine, meeting people and finding new friends in the community. Some members benefit from networking opportunities or from volunteering - Both from learning new skills and building up valuable work experience.

Within and external to the ICU and hospital, critical care members gain great satisfaction from putting their existing experience or professional skills to good use by donating their talents to a cause. Whatever your motivation, you can be sure that your efforts will be making a real contribution to the work of the CICF.

Some benefits of CICF membership include:

  • access to research and educational funds
  • opportunities to acquire funds to support critical care conferences at chapter and national levels
  • a subscription to The Foundation’s Edge - the official newsletter of the CICF
  • publications such as the CICF Annual Report
  • various networking opportunities at chapter events
  • occasions where students can connect with ICU professionals in their field of studies
  • occasions where suppliers can meet ICU professionals
  • opportunities for ICU team members to give something back to their profession and the community
  • opportunities for Canadians to come forward as CICF members willing to donate  their skills or expertise to a cause

    Members Help

CICF membership continues to touch the lives of many. And, we appreciate our chapter members spreading the word about their commitment to the foundation and the need to improve research and education for the care and recovery of future ICU patients.

It all starts with chapter members. The progress we made this year began with chapters - in addition to gifts of money from various CICF friends. Your support continues to help us achieve critical care advances every day.
